Subscription tracker alternatives

Most subscription trackers fall into one of two camps. Which one fits depends on whether you want automatic detection — or privacy and control.

Two approaches

Bank-linked vs. private and manual

Bank-linked trackers

Apps like Rocket Money connect to your bank (via Plaid) to detect subscriptions automatically and can cancel or negotiate bills for you. Powerful, but they need full account access, mostly support US banks, and charge a recurring subscription.

Private, manual trackers

Tools like SubSpend never touch your bank. You add subscriptions yourself, so they work in any country and currency, keep your financial data private, and (in SubSpend's case) use one-time pricing instead of a monthly fee.

Want privacy and control?

SubSpend tracks every subscription and reminds you before charges — with no bank connection required.
