Multiply your input tokens by the input price per million, and your output tokens by the output price per million, then add the two. For example, 1,000 input tokens at $3 per million plus 500 output tokens at $15 per million costs $0.003 + $0.0075 = $0.0105 per request. Most providers return token usage in the API response (a usage object with input and output token counts) or in your account's usage dashboard, and they publish per-million-token prices on their pricing page. Because you enter the prices yourself, the estimate stays accurate even as prices change — this tool never assumes a model's price for you.
As a rough guide, one token is about 4 characters or three-quarters of a word in English, so roughly 750 words is about 1,000 tokens. This varies by model and language, so for exact counts use your provider's tokenizer or the token count returned with each API call — treat any word-based estimate as approximate.
