No. The compression happens entirely in your browser using the HTML canvas, so your image never leaves your device and nothing is stored or sent anywhere.

It reads JPG, PNG, and WebP (and most formats your browser can open) and lets you export as JPG, WebP, or PNG. JPG and WebP use the quality slider; PNG is lossless, so the slider doesn't change its size.

Lower quality means a smaller file but more visible artifacts, especially on text and sharp edges. The live preview lets you find a balance — for photos, a quality around 60–80% is usually a good trade-off.
