Frequently asked questions

For each day, subtract the clock-in time from the clock-out time, then subtract any unpaid break, and add up the days for your weekly total. Enter your times above and the calculator does it automatically, showing the total in both hours and minutes and as a decimal (for example 37h 30m = 37.50 hours) ready to submit to payroll.

If a day's clock-out time is earlier than its clock-in time, the calculator assumes the shift ran past midnight and adds 24 hours — so 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM counts as 8 hours. Enter the times as they happened and overnight days total correctly.

It multiplies your total hours (as a decimal) by the hourly rate you enter. This is gross pay only — it doesn't apply overtime premiums or deduct taxes, and overtime rules vary by employer and region, so treat it as an estimate and confirm the final figure with your payroll.
